Lung Flush™. The lungs are one of the organs that connect directly with the outside world. They experience the pollution that comes from the environment on a first hand basis. The lungs are well supplied with blood and form a barrier that allows the body to absorb oxygen from the air and also to excrete carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.

The lungs are also a very metabolically active site for detoxification of some toxins. Because the lungs are in contact with our polluted atmosphere, they can absorb many air borne pollutants. Some of these pollutants are particulate in nature and can become trapped with the lung itself. Some of pollutants are chemical in nature and can gain access to the body by dissolving across the lung membrane to the blood.

These chemical pollutants can themselves act as oxidants to damage the lung tissue or cause the lung tissue to be damaged when the body attempts to get rid of the pollutants. In the case of particulate pollutants, they can cause damage to the lung tissue when the body attempts to get rid of them, as they cannot be absorbed into the body.

Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals has developed a special herbal formula to help protect the lung tissue from damage and also to get rid of the trapped particulate pollutants.

This formula, Lung Flush, is made up of a combination of Western and Chinese herbs. In essence Lung Flush will help loosen and expel some trapped particulate pollutants and provide anti-oxidants which specifically protect the lung tissue.

In addition, Lung Flush increases the blood flow to the lungs to help wash away any trapped pollutants into the general circulation where they can be detoxified and excreted from the body by the Kidneys or the Gut.

Suggested dose for adults
Take 1 tablespoon (15ml) daily or as directed by your health care practitioner. May be taken with or without food. Shake well before use. Refrigerate after opening.

INGREDIENTS	SPECIFIC FUNCTION
Rosemary	Shown to increase blood flow in capillaries (especially significant for the lungs because of their larger quantity of capillaries). Stimulating blood flow in lung capillaries will help remove stagnant toxins from the lung into the general circulation where they can be diluted, detoxified and eliminated.
Scutellaria biacalensis	Used to treat respiratory conditions, especially infections of the upper respiratory tract. Helps support the lungs and aids in drainage.
Momordica grosvenori	Stimulates the activity of the lung macrophages, thus helping to clear and drain cellular debris trapped in the lung tissue.
Honeysuckle	As an expectorant, it is useful for dislodging phlegm and thereby aids drainage of the lungs.
Chrysanthemum morifolium	Functions as an expectorant and is an anti-bacterial agent
Morus alba	Functions as an expectorant and supports lung tissue.
